Where Are You Yeezy?
This was a major conundrum of the past year and something that has kept me up late at night. What is to be done with this Kanye West? No doubt, the hard core fans 20 years from now will claim “808s and Heartbreak” as his most misunderstood, and therefor best album. I enjoy the beats because they remind me of 80s action movie synth. I’m more dodgey with the lyrics. They are at times wonderfully personal, and yet at times seemingly lazy. Much in the way that is getting Lil’ Wayne Grammy nominations (FUCKING BULLSHIT!). But damn it he’s doing something new. Right? Meh.
Here’s him trying to perform an intentionally over produced song live on the television. I think he really hits it here by bringing over the rawness of the original track to stage. If you saw the SNL performance (yeeash), you would see where an attempt to do so may miss.
Here’s an awesome rap that is what the track “Robocop” should have been. I was actually working on something like this for a few weeks, but I was prempted by this wonder. He also made on for “Predator”. Anyways, make some popcorn, it’s 10+ minutes.
